Over time we collect many different outfits in our closet that go unused. These unused outfits sit without being worn because we imagine them only to be used for certain occasions. However it may be time to begin to develop the habit of wearing what we want to wear when we want to wear it. Many colorful and vibrant base layers can be made casual or fancier by throwing an overcoat on top of them. Some roles can be taken to another level by wearing dresses; for example we can wear flashy dresses to go biking or photographing. There are many opportunities to wear otherwise fancy fashion to do mundane daily tasks.
- We buy certain clothing items, just waiting to wear them and they sit in our closets gathering dust.
- Go biking in a dress, wear a silky shear sheath to go get flowers. The point is, drag those items out of your closet and dress up your day.
- You don’t need a reason to dress up, be the reason.
“They’re special because we’ve assigned value to them, because we fell in love when we bought them, because we picture ourselves as better versions of us when we wear them.”
